My Story

Demetra Dimokopoulos, Founder of The Knockout Room®

I’m the transformational architect and the visionary founder and CEO of the award-winning wellness brand, The Knockout Room®. I’m driven by a fierce commitment to dismantling barriers, redefining beauty standards, and crafting an immersive world at the intersection of wellness, storytelling, and social change, where women and girls thrive. What began as a bold wellness space for working moms and their daughters has blossomed into a vibrant ecosystem—TKR™ Universe—where programs, rituals, and community converge to ignite generational transformation.

I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology and professional writing & communication from the University of Toronto in 2006. In 2015, I completed my Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Copenhagen Business School, specializing in entrepreneurship, leadership, and sustainability. I’m also a 2023 graduate of the Institute for Women-Centered Coaching, Training and Leadership, where I mastered the application of feminine power principles through coaching, facilitation, and transformational leadership.

As a member of the Professional Advisory Committee of The Health Coach Alliance, I contribute to the global advancement of health coaching, advocating for its integration into mainstream healthcare and wellness initiatives.

When I’m not binge-watching The Handmaid’s Tale, I can be found cycling, kickboxing, bouncing on my rebound fitness boots, or wandering through nature. My passion for language has led me to explore six languages with varying degrees of fluency, and I continue to nurture my creative spirit through writing and strumming my acoustic guitar.

Fun Fact: In Greek mythology, Demeter is the goddess of the harvest, agriculture, fertility and sacred law.

The Beginning

My health journey began in 2013, during one of the most challenging chapters of my life. As the primary caregiver for a terminally ill family member, I poured myself into others until my own health was depleted—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. That experience became a turning point. I realized that prioritizing my well-being wasn’t selfish—it was survival. It was a boundary I had to draw to reclaim my life.

Fueled by this awakening, I immersed myself in the world of fitness and nutrition, cutting through the noise of conflicting advice to build an evidence-based approach rooted in compassion and clarity. While completing my MBA in Copenhagen, I founded The Knockout Room®, transforming my personal health journey into a movement. I became certified as a fitness trainer and HCA Registered Health Coach, shed 30 pounds by being my first client, and gained something far more powerful: a renewed sense of agency.

A self-described extroverted introvert, I cherish solitude, reflection, and the rituals of rest. My personal journey—marked by resilience, grit, and radical self-inquiry—has led me to a life of purpose and authenticity. I speak my truth unapologetically, embrace my evolving identity, and fuse my love of entertainment and movement with a mission to dismantle outdated stereotypes and reimagine how society perceives women’s bodies. My signature innovation is a gamified wellness program designed specifically for working moms with tween daughters. It goes beyond fitness, addressing the emotional and psychological hurdles that keep women stuck in cycles of guilt, burnout, and self-neglect. At its core is the belief that boundary-setting is not just a skill—it’s a form of liberation.
